Guiding you towards your goals one step at a time.
From a very early age I've been participating in this crazy sport of ours. I've experienced a high level of success in high school, college and even in my semi-pro career that continues to this day. In that time I learned the value of having a coach, and how necessary they are to make it to the next level. As a coach I've also experienced a high level of success coaching athletes to numerous personal bests, as well as helping others reach a national level of success. I have a deep passion for this sport, and a feeling of kinship with anyone that wants to lace up a pair of running shoes, so having the opportunity to coach those individuals is a dream come true.
The formula for improvement in this sport isn't a mystery; stress + rest = adaption, and from there it's almost as simple as wash, rinse and repeat. However, knowing exactly what that looks like for each individual is the true puzzle. Hence my approach begins with meeting the athlete where they are. What are you currently doing, what have you done in the past, what would you like to accomplish, what's is possible with your schedule and what drives you? All of that taken into consideration will help when formulating your unique training plan.
From an early age, finding success in athletics became an obsession for me. Most of my knowledge at the time was anecdotal or learned from my coaches (namely my mentor and College coach, Paul Rice) until my final year of undergrad. At that point, I began reading the works of Jack Daniels, Arthur Lydiard, Renato Canova, Joe Vigil, Owen Anderson, David Martin, Peter Coe, Luke Humphrey, Keith Livingstone, Steve Magness and Brad Stulberg. From there, any article I found that had anything to do with endurance training piqued my interest. In my final year as the Graduate assistant for the OU Golden Grizzlies in 2021, I was hired as the distance coach for Rochester Christian University (formerly known as Rochester University) whom I currently still design workouts for. In that time, I earned my CPT from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and have continued to study our sport and all of its intricacies. In 2023, I met my wife, and we decided it was time for a change hence I started Run Through The Wall, LLC where I continue to help individuals from all backgrounds attain their goals as they relate to running.
My mission is to help make the world a better place through the medium of running and coaching my athletes to help them reach their physical/ running goals. I believe people will find more balance in life as well as the excitement that comes with pursuing new goals. I hope to also help my athletes find a sense of community using the Run Through The Wall, LLC as well as to inspire and encourage my athletes that they have the potential to do something they can be proud of. Using all the wisdom and knowledge I’ve gained as a coach and as an athlete, I hope to help all of my athletes reach their full potential. I hope to instill a feeling of passion and joy for this sport as they discover the excitement that comes from slowly developing strength and endurance throughout their running journey. Together, we’ll run through that wall.
Please reach us at andrewjbowman94@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
At the top of the page click our menu icon, there you'll find a link to our athlete questionnaire. Like all great coaches, I want to know my athletes. Once you've filled out the questionnaire, I'll be in touch within 24-48 hours to schedule our first meeting.
Anyone that has or wants to try this crazy sport of ours, and wants to run through their own wall is welcome here! :)
Run Through The Wall is completely online, and I can coach you to run through your own wall wherever you live.
In the starting phases, we currently do not have a store, but are in the process of partnering with a few 3rd party platforms soon to get you outfitted in some "Run Through The Wall" apparel ASAP.
The running community is small, but so fun to be apart of, and we love getting to meet up when we can. If you find yourself in the Detroit metro area, we do a group run from the Ferndale Project every Thursday at 6pm. All are welcome
